Be as wealthy as you are healthy…
I've always agreed with the Greek philosopher who talked about the virtues of "a strong mind in a strong body." Or as Thomas Jefferson said, "if the body be feeble, the mind will not be strong." All the money in the world can't buy health. But life is best when you have both! And it's this simple:
- Visit your doctor regularly. Your family physician is your first line of defense – prevention is key to the cure and early detection is that key.
- Maintain vigorous activity. Develop the habit of regular physical exercise and activities that will maintain your strength, flexibility and endurance.
- Eat responsibly. Nutrition is so important in maintaining a healthy weight, preventing blood pressure issues and sustaining good cardiovascular health.
…And as healthy as you are wealthy!
- Wealth Strength: You need a strong investment plan * so you survive any future situation, including a solid investment plan, an up-to-date Will, Powers Of Attorney and a home that's comfortable and affordable.
Health Strength: 10 per cent of muscle mass * is lost every decade after the age of 30. Participate regularly in activities that make you pull, push, lift and carry.
- Wealth Flexibility: a "PLAN" enables you to react * to our rapidly evolving economic universe – and your own personal, family situation. Only with a clear, flexible plan can you take advantage of opportunities and minimize risk.
Health Flexibility: flexibility decreases rapidly, * meaning less mobility and awareness… more risk. Activities that make you stretch, reach and bend plus crosswords, playing an instrument and reading keep body and mind flexible.
- Wealth Endurance: Retain clear priorities and values; * be realistic about your capacity; consistently monitor your needs – and ensure you're prepared for emergencies. Your finances must keep up to you and your ongoing requirements.
Health Endurance: Regularly participating in aerobic * or endurance activities that raise your heart rate, make you feel warm and cause you to breathe deeply can help you to cut your rate of age-related declines in endurance by up to 50%.
